Privacy Policy

• Account information. When you create an account, we receive your email address and basic profile details from your sign-in provider.
• Check inputs. Answers to behavioral questions, a first name or nickname for the person you are checking, the platform you met on, and optionally profile links, photos, and background-check details such as phone, email, date of birth, city, and state.
• Report output. Scores, findings, and summary text generated for your check.
• Technical data. Device and session identifiers, approximate IP-derived rate-limit signals, and basic usage logs needed to run and protect the Service.

A Suss account is required to run a check. Reports are always tied to the account that created them.

• To run the safety check you requested and produce a report;
• To create and secure your account, and to save your reports;
• To process payments and manage subscriptions;
• To enforce usage limits and prevent abuse;
• To debug, monitor, and improve the Service.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your check inputs for advertising.

Photos you upload are stored in private storage tied to your account and are never publicly listed. They are used only to run the photo checks you requested.

Uploaded photos are automatically purged on a scheduled retention job once they are no longer needed for your report. You can also delete a report at any time from My Reports.

To produce a report, limited inputs may be sent to third-party providers that perform a specific function for us:

• Cloud hosting, database, authentication, and file storage;
• AI-image and photo analysis providers;
• Reverse-image and web-detection providers;
• Public-records and criminal-records search providers;
• Payment processing by Paddle, which acts as our payment provider and Merchant of Record. Your payment details are entered with Paddle at checkout; Suss does not receive or store raw card numbers. We store only the subscription and status information needed to manage your access.

These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms and are not permitted to use it for unrelated purposes. We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect the safety of users.

Suss is not a consumer reporting agency and Suss reports are not consumer reports under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. You may not use Suss to make decisions about employment, housing, credit, insurance, or any other FCRA-regulated purpose.

Reports remain in your account until you delete them or close your account. Photos are retained only for the limited window needed to complete the check. Session and rate-limit records expire automatically. We may keep aggregated, de-identified data for analytics.

Access to your data is protected by authentication and row-level database access rules, so reports and uploads are readable only by the account that created them. Data is encrypted in transit. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

You can access, correct, export, or delete your reports from within the app, and you can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal information.

We use cookies and browser storage that are necessary to keep you signed in, remember an in-progress check, and apply usage limits. We do not use them to build advertising profiles.

Suss is intended for adults aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has used the Service, contact us and we will delete the data.

We may update this Privacy Policy. The updated version will be posted here with a new effective date, and continued use of the Service means you accept the revised policy.
